Michael Lacey an Iconic Figure in the Field of Mathematics

Many people when you mention the word mathematics to them they start developing goose bumps because to them mathematics is one difficult subject. Mathematics is one very important area of study as it is through mathematics that scientist can be able to invent some of the things we enjoy in life.

You can do nothing without mathematics. Mathematics is applied in a wide array of disciplines be it money matters, engineering or in health and much more all require mathematics. One important figure in the field of mathematics is Michael Lacey.

Lacey has dedicated all his life to studying and teaching mathematics. Lacey has vast experience in the field of mathematics spanning to more than three decades.

Michael Lacey was born in 1959 in the United States of America. Lacey went to the University of Texas where he pursued a Bachelors of Science Degree in Mathematics in the year 1981. Lacey, also, holds a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Illinois. Under the guidance of Walter Philip in 1987, Michael Lacey did a thesis on central limit theorem and the law of iterated logarithm.

Lacey impressive performance led him to a successful teaching career at various colleges and universities as an assistant professor to a full-time professor.

Some of the top rated Universities Lacey has taught include Louisiana State University where he served as an assistant professor, University of North Carolina also as an assistant professor and Indiana University Bloomington among others.

Lacey is currently a full-time professor at Georgia Institute of Technology.

Lacey outstanding performance and immense contributions in the field of mathematics has won him recognition from all over the world, and as a result, he has won many awards and received numerous grants.

Some of the wards include the Simon Fellow, Fulbright Fellowship and the Guggenheim Fellowship award.

Lacey has more than a hundred publications and peers reviews journals to his name. Lacey together with Christopher Thiele was able to solve the equation of Hilbert transform, and as a result, they were awarded the Salem Prize which is one of the most significant and most competitive awards in the field of Mathematics. Lacey is a fellow of the American Mathematical Society.
